Brake Fluid Flush
Brake Fluid Flush Englewood
Brake fluid is the lifeblood of your hydraulic brake system; it is what makes the system work properly. Brake fluid is a specially blended fluid that performs multiple functions.
- It must be able to flow smoothly in extremely high temperatures as well as very low temperatures.
- It serves as a lubricant to ensure smooth and even operation.
- It must protect against corrosion and rust in the brake lines and other components.
- It must resist evaporation.
Brake fluid is what is known as hygroscopic, which means it readily absorbs water. Moisture can enter the fluid through the environment or from condensation. When brake fluid heats up then cools down condensation will result. Moisture in your brake fluid will affect the performance of your brake fluid and therefore your brakes. As the amount of moisture increases, the boiling point of your brake fluid decreases and that could lead to sudden brake failure. Too much moisture can also cause corrosion to build up on internal brake components which will decrease their efficiency. Therefore, we strongly recommend replacing your brake fluid if the moisture content is more than 2%.
Here at Thompson Automotive we inspect your brake fluid for contamination and moisture content every time we inspect your vehicle. Should your brake fluid not pass our inspection, we provide the BG Brake Fluid Service. Our technicians will carefully and thoroughly flush all the dirty fluid out of your system prior to pumping new clean fluid in. The BG Dot 4 Brake Fluid provides the ultimate in high temperature protection, moisture resistance and lubricity. This product is suitable for use in all brake systems.
